Games like x3 terran conflict
X3:TC is (apparently) the last in the X trilogy, not sure if you've tried any of the others but guessing not The game plays quite simlarly to Freelancer (not a bad thing!), more than it does Nexus (which was really strategy, but still one of the best video games I've played). How big of a 'faction' can you control etc? is there a limit to how much you can expand? How does it work exactly? So it's ultimately a sci-fi sandbox, seems pretty interesting and looks like a solid gem to me. Here's another gameplay video if you're interested though It can be empire building, or you can skip that and just go for the action, or go exploring and hunt for hidden sectors and unique ships or do the missions or whatever takes your fancy. Well there's a few sides to the game really, lots of ways to play it. What's the delay with patches and bug fixes using Steam? it's sort of like using one ship as a main 'avatar' and use that to control others? The only caveat is you don't get access to patches and bug fixes as quickly as customers with the DVD do. The Steam version is as good as the DVD version. There ARE storylines, but you don't have to pay any attention to them unless you fancy it. It's basically a sandbox game where you can try out as much stuff as you like until you get bored. Eventually, you will be able to build stations and control those remotely too (or by docking at them). You also remotely control other ships which you own but do not currently occupy. So, what exactly is this game?Įdit: also noticed that i've seen X3 threads on the forums, but these have just confused me further and haven't really answered any of my questions.īeen thinking of buying it via Steam too, which i've never used before, can anyone give me the pros/cons of Steam and opinions too? That would be much appreciated.īasically, you fly around in a ship.
How does this all work together? Unless i've assumed something that isn't true of course. I've also heard that it is involved in the economy-management empire style kinda thing. From the screenshots and (very, very few) gameplay videos I can find, I keep seeing different each time, and the end result is that i'm pretty confused on what this game actually is. 'Lo folks, just been browsing this game across the internet recently and been seriously thinking of buying it, although, the most idiotic question I have is, what style of game is this exactly? A first-person space-sim like Freelancer (I've not played that though) or a third-person style one like Nexus: The Jupiter Incident? (really enjoyed Nexus). The plan was to send Egosoft free "voice clips" of whatever lines they needed as long as they agreed to credit us.» Click here to find additional results for this topic using Google I remember a while back ago I started a few threads on their official forums to try and get a contest running on "voice talent" from the community. I agree X4 looks promsing if they focus more on the combat.
X3:TC was pretty stable at launch (which was surprising), but that is only because it's basically X3: Reunion with an overhauled mission system, so much else didn't change. Then like a year later when everything is fixed, they also throw in tons of extra content, and suddenly it's like being hugged by all your childhood fantasies at once. Crashes, performance issues, and bugs bugs bugs. I was there from the beginning of X2 up until now with TC, and it's a roller coaster of emotions from start to finish.īasically whenever they release a new game - it's absolutely bug ridden and terrible close to unplayable. Click to expand.Gonna have to agree and disagree with you both at the same time there! Egosoft does indeed care about it's fans and customers - but they also blatantly admit releasing unfinished software.
